Kobo Aura H2O Wont sync to Sd card.
Hello, I have a Kobo Aura H2O I believe its a first edition. Ive had it since 2016. Ive seen multiple posts that this ereader will accept 64GB SD cards and above as long as they are fat32.
I have several sd cards, a 4gb, 64gb and 128gb. They are all recognised by the ereader and show up on the settings page as well as on my pc. My kobo ereader internal storage is full and it wont sync anything onto the sd card, no matter which one I put in. I have done several factory resets, wiped and formatted the cards. Tried syncing by kobo desktop. It just stops when the ereader is full. It does however place cache files on the 128gb card when that is connected and that is the closest I have got to getting anything on external cards. Any help would be most appreciated. TLDR - Kobo Aura H2O wont sync any books to a sd card when the ereader is full. |

Moving files over manually does not work?
I'm not sure if there is any system in place more sophisticated than that... Last edited by frostschutz; 11-27-2021 at 10:32 AM. |

It just constantly says the ereader is full and wont sync to the sd card despite recognising it. |

If the database which must live on the internal storage does not have enough space, you will run into issues.
If you are manually moving files from the .kobo/kepub directory, this will not work since the database will not have the new location. If you are sideloading books, you might want to do a true factory reset (either manual or from the developer options menu) and use the external μSD card to store any sideloaded books. Do you know where the space on your internal storage is being consumed? |

If I tap sync on my ereader it will download books until it complains there is no space and the device information page says that there is 0.0gb space on the internal storage whilst my sd card sits with nothing used. I believe the space is just taken up mainly with the books it syncs onto the internal memory. After a factory reset I start with 2.7gb out of 4gb. How do I get it to leave enough space for the databases? Also like to add - thanks to both yourself and the person above for replying to me and trying to help me. ![]() |

I haven't tried this for years, so something has changed. This was a definite feature of these devices. So this is a bug and you should report it to Kobo. |
