One or two books showing up on Kobo in sans-serif font, unlike all the others

Does anyone know what might cause just a very few (I think two out of many hundreds) book titles to show up on my Kobo Libra 2 in an ugly sans-serif font, and spaced a bit differently (i.e. no space under the author name) when I do a search?

This is only an issue in the search list you get when you search for books by title or author. Everything's fine once I open the book, it just seems to be a weird glitch. I've tried deleting it from the device, then converting from EPUB to EPUB in Calibre, and using (as always) Kobo TouchExtended to load it back on to the device, but always the same problem (not really a problem, I guess - but slightly annoying!).

That sounds like the title might have some unusual characters in it. San serif with extra spacing might mean they are double-byte characters. Was the metadata source a non-European site? If it is what I think it is, it is more likely to be sourced from a Japanese or Chinese site. It might not be as obvious in the calibre UI as that is using a san serif font. To check something like that, I would use the calibre editor and open the OPF file. The editor may show the characters with a yellow background. Otherwise, if you put the cursor after one of them, what the character is will be shown in the status bar at the bottom right.

Typing over the title in the metadata editor should fix it. If it doesn't, I would do it in the editor as above and make sure the characters are cleared. The when saved, go back the the metadata and get the metadata from the book again.
