Eliminating unwanted nag message

Is it possible to prevent the "You haven't read...." message (or some such thing) displaying books opened but not recently read? Of course, one can simply ignore the pop up box and deselect the checked books, or individually mark book(s) as unread or finished. I would like to avoid the nag box entirely. Can something be inserted in the .conf file or is the message part of the bundled reading stats?

Hmm I've never gotten this nag on any of my Kobos, and I often have opened or partly read books on them. Is it something only applying to direct downloads from Kobo?

That is shown periodically and the timestamp for when it was last shown is stored in the config file. Unfortunately, it doesn't use a simple string. But, I have a sample that sets the date to about 8 years in the future.

If you add the following lines to the "ApplicationPreferences" settings, it should prevent these popups for a while:

Code:
MarkAsFinishedLastShown=@Variant(\0\0\0\x10\0%\x94h\x3!>i\x2)
MarkAsUnreadLastShown=@Variant(\0\0\0\x10\0%\x94h\x3!>i\x2)

I also get it often, and I only have side-loaded books. I'll have to pay attention to when I get it next and record the date, now I'm curious what the pattern is.

I keep my camera reference books on my reader, so those always pop up as partially read and not used for awhile. I find the message annoying as well, so after my curiosity is satisfied about how often it pops up, I'll add in davidfor's lines to stop it for awhile.

Sideloaded epubs, either from Kobo or converted from my Amazon books. I sideload only as I'm rather fussy about the formatting.

Note: Ths occurs (presumably) because I keep several books opened at the cover (1% read) which serves as my "TBR" books that remain on the home screen.

David, your brilliance is never-ending. This is a pleasant surprise and I thank you for providing a solution.

To clarify this a bit, there are two prompts. Both show open books. One has books that have not been read very far and offers to mark them as unread. The other shows books that are nearly finished and offers to marks them as read. The books must also have been in that state for a while and not touched.

I don't know what percentage reads are used for either of two checks. And I don't know how long they have to be sitting in that state for a book to be a candidate for this prompt.

The prompts are shown periodically. I'm not sure of the interval. It might be monthly or when new books meet the criteria with a minimum time between the prompts. The timestamps above are when the prompts were last shown and should mean they will not be shown until sometime after that time is reached.
