Maximum conversion batch size?

I have ~45k books that I want to reconvert to MOBI to deal with Amazon's cover issue. How large a batch can I do this in? All 45,000? 20?

Apologies if my search before posting missed an answer.

Go for it if you want hair pulling, face beating...
Calibre don't care, it might take days or weeks.

BUT
what if one of those is bad and crashes the conversion? , where do I restart?
Besides Who can read 45K books??? Convert (and tag:cvrfixed?)as you go.

By converting to MOBI you will get cover thumbnails at the expense of losing formatting that will make some of those books less readable!

You can convert to the more capable AZW3 (KF8) or KFX formats and also have cover thumbnails if you sideload your books to your Kindle using calibre.

Thank you.

You're right - I'll never get through 40k+, but I like to have options!

Thanks. That's interesting.

These books are already MOBI. If I convert to AZW3, will I gain back any readability or is it already gone? They were probably EPUB to begin with way back when.

You will gain some of the features of KF8 (AZW3) such as being able to change the font to one you want. Also, you will be able to edit the KF8 eBook should you need/want to do so.
