Fixing an Importing muck up
Hi all, when i imported files somehow different author books have been attached to the incorrect books.
I was wondering if anyone is aware of a plug in that will allow me to see if the title and author is present within each of the ebooks content as a preliminary step to rectifying this. Cheers Simon |

Way too many ways to embed the wrongness before you can run your test.
Conversion, Polish, Embed Metadata, Modify EPUB (PI)... The big Q is how you managed this? Were you using the Read from Filename metadata option (and the chosen template was wrong)? Did you do a Bulk Metadata download? (without ISBN or similar, I've seen Calibre get wrong results. I always cherry pick from the returned choices, manually nowadays) |

Thanks for replying. I have found that when trying to collate several versions of books and/or mulitples by the same author etc that Calibre can do some really wierd things. As I tend to be doing thousands of files it's hard to understand which are caused by memory, which are race conditions etc.
Importing books which are corrupted does seem to have issues as well as books which use esoteric sub formats within the containers. All in all though, for free it does a cracking job. I'm thankful for its existance |

Just to be clear about my use of corrupt in this context:
Bad metadata, covers... Not a damaged file (inside the book or overall) |
