Kobo Aura H20 version 1, firmware 4.28.18220. Calibre 5.28.0.
Was working fine last week, but today, after connecting device to USB, starts usual jobs, but two never complete. Backup device database still running after 15 minutes, reading positions waiting, for that to complete, I presume. Could not stop jobs, could not eject device. Eventually had to unplug device and force shutdown Calibre. After unplugging device, got this error from Calibre: Failed:Backing up Kobo device database calibre, version 5.26.0 (win32, embedded-python: True) Failed to backup device database: Failed: Backing up Kobo device database [Errno 22] Invalid argument Traceback (most recent call last): File "calibre\gui2\device.py", line 89, in run File "calibre_plugins.koboutilities.jobs", line 193, in do_device_database_backup File "shutil.py", line 279, in copyfile File "shutil.py", line 185, in _copyfileobj_readinto OSError: [Errno 22] Invalid argument I have:

Is there something odd about the specific PATH for the backup to be placed.
By odd: Rights, existence of folder (and it is LOCAL) My last has yesterdays date stamp (same OS and release) |

The backup is being done by the Kobo Utilities. It should be fairly quick, but, if you have a lot of books, the database can get big. But, it shouldn't be big enough to take 15 minutes.
The line where you stopped it is when the actual copy is being done. As @theducks said, is there something unusual about the destination? Is it possible that something else was trying to access the database? The only other thing would be the Kobo desktop application, and I always recommend not running it at the same time as calibre. And of course, the usual culprit for things like this is antivirus or malware protection. These could be blocking or slowing down the copy. |
