Tablet for outdoor use
Hi! I need an affordable tablet for outdoor use in order to take digital notes for my job.
I would like to buy a ink - tablet but the price is off budget for me and even if I find a refurbished one or second hand I will pay customs cause most of the time the good deals is outside of EU. So, I saw the specs of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it has a sensor light. I also saw the Fire HD 10 and I heard that you can use it outside. I would like also to buy an active pen. SGT 10.1 is tricky one in this, cause not all models take a pen. Do any of you have Fire or SGT? If yes could you post a photo of a text direct in sunlight? If you have another one in mind feel free to suggest it. Your advise will be helpful. Last edited by selefa; 09-07-2021 at 01:43 AM. |

No LCD or AMOLED tablet is usable in direct sunlight, only shade. An auto light sensor doesn't fix that.
The Samsung is overpriced x2 at least compared to comparable Android Tablets. Fire is Amazon's custom walled garden Amazon store version of Android, it can be hacked to allow Google Playstore. Lenovo is a little dearer than Fire, but IMO better. |

True pen input (high resolution digitizer like Wacom) is expensive. The really good Wacom pens are active but don't need a battery.
And no, no affordable LCD Tablet has true pen input. The Lenovo ones don't. |

You can get still pretty cheap ones. The Samsung Tab S6 Lite can be regularly found on sale for less than $300USD and it includes the Wacom pen in the box.

[QUOTE=salamanderjuice;4152397OP maybe ask your work if they'll pay for something like an Oynx Note Air?[/QUOTE]
Simply whey will not. That is the reason I want something affortable. In general samsung pen works fine. I have the samsung galazy note 3 and after 6 years worls perfect. I will check the ST S6 and how performs outside. I want to readable, not like an ereader of course, but readable. |

Keep an eye on the Samsung education website, they frequently drop in price and Samsung doesn't check for any kind of education verification for the older devices. I picked up the S6 lite in July for $189 US with no trade in.

Well, After a loooot of thinking I decided that if I buy a device I will buy the onyx boox nova 3. The price difference between onyx and lite is 70 euros.
So, if I will give that amount of money I want something that will help me for sure and not something that merely will do the job. |
