Multiple files and file types wont open

Hi Everyone,

My computer crashed and I am restoring my Calibre library. While updating metadata, I have found many (not all) of my pdfs and other file formats are not opening. Without having to click on every single e-book and pdf I have, is there a plugin or operation that can scan the library for books that wont open?

Are the underlying files there? if not, you can do library maintenance to find/remove missing

Are those files still DRM infested?
THEN
Did you register Digital Editions to the same account as before?
Calibre can store infested books,and the (authorized) system handler for that format will open them.

The files are not DRM. The pdfs are articles or books I have had for years. I still have lit files from years ago that i never converted but now some wont open. Some open some do not. My system crashed and I salvaged what I could from the hard drive. I guess in the crash and salvage some files just wont open anymore. Trying to find the quickest way to see what's good without having to spend hours opening each file one at a time.

What I would do, is use the word count plugin, that will tell you what has readable content. This isnt 100% as image based PDFs will show low/no word counts. But should allow you to filter all the known good, and the review the remaining.

Thank you so much, it worked! I count the pages of each file and if it comes back blank that file doesnt open.
