How to read where the user clicked on screen

Hi,
sorry if this a duplicate, but it is quite hard to look for "touch" in this forums

I would like to display "stuff" on kindle and get notification where the user clicked on screen (touched).

Displaying is easy, I can use fbink or eips, but how to I read where (and if) the screen was touched? Is there a /proc or /dev interface for that? Or a daemon of somekind?

(I want to do a simple weather display with possibility of clicking of some buttons to show more info).

BTW. I would probably show just a generated images to make it easier.
