Any way to transfer an ebook from kindle app?

I bought an ebook from Amazon and sent it to the "kindle" app on my android phone.

Later I decided to read it on a bigger screen (Paperwhite), I thought I would be able to connect the phone via usb and copy the azw3 file... wrong! The kindle app has a folder named after the book's ASIN, with KFX and other files in it.

Is there any way to use that book to the Paperwhite somehow or did I just throw my money in the trash?

With some rare exceptions you can read any purchased book on any Kindle app or device registered to your Amazon account. On your Paperwhite you should be able to see the new book listed under YOUR LIBRARY as long as you select the category ALL instead of DOWNLOADED.

Another way is to click Search and start typing the title of the book. Once you see a book icon with the full title click to download it.

If for some reason that book isn't available on your Kindle you can always return it for a refund.

While I provided a possible solution above, I neglected to actually answer the question posed in the title of this thread: Any way to transfer an ebook from kindle app?

In some rare cases it may be possible if the book is sold DRM-free and delivered to the app in one of Amazon's older Kindle formats. But in this particular case of a book in KFX format the answer is no.

You could try returning that copy and purchasing a replacement copy under the other email address. OTOH, Amazon has been known to get upset with people who use multiple accounts.

Returning the book was not possible, Amazon support said the only option is to deregister the Kindle, register using the current account in order to be able to download the new book, and then redownload and recategorize all the books... I *really* love DRM... next time, paperback.
