Kobo clara frontlight

Have Kobo already fixed the light-bleeding issue on the newer claras? I wonder because I'm unsure whether to buy the libra 2 or the clara, since I'm not sure I find the new grip style comfortable

I can't speak for all Claras, but the one I bought a couple weeks ago has a very good, even screen. No bleeding.

I bought a new Clara HD a few months ago. Lighting is perfectly even at all levels of brightness. No bleeding.

I got my Clara HD almost exactly three years ago. It has perfectly even lighting. I love it.

I am using both the "old" (for 2 years now) Clara and (for 2 weeks now) the new Libra 2. Both have no problems whatever with the front light, there is no light-bleeding and the light is evenly distributed over the screen.

The problem you are referring to was a major problem with the Forma. For me it was the reason why I returned the Forma.

Cheers
Chris

I don't remember there being a light bleed issue on the Forma. There is a grey bar near the buttons that is very common. Exactly how dark the bar was, or how obvious it was, varied across the devices.

For the Clara HD, the glare problem seemed to be a manufacturing defect. Or something happened afterwards that affected the glue holding the bezel to the screens. Again, different devices showed different amounts of glare. I assume that whatever caused it has been fixed because the only comments I can think of about it recently are the recent comments about if it still happens, or if it affects the new devices.

No, it was a problem on the Clara at time of release.

I've had my Clara for two and a half years now and I do have a very small issue with it on the bottom right corner.

I tried taking a photo, but I don't think it shows up well. It's more noticeable in person, but even then, it's not bad like some of those early photos were.

Edit, it actually shows up better in the thumbnail than it does in the full size image. Weird.

Anyway, remember, mine is two in a half years old. Since then, I believe they have fixed the issue.
