Hi all,
Im getting kobo libra today, got exited for it delivered. Im planning to use KOReader with it for better epub and pdf compatibility. Regarding to this i have some questions 1. Is there any way to transfer files wirelessly (epubs) to kobo libra from Android phone? 2. I like to take screenshots with KOReader when im reading. So, in vice versa from question 1, is there any way to transfer screenshots (png) from kobo libra? And can it transfer my exported koreader booknotes (html) file from libra as well? Thanks in advance, Have a good day. |

I just use a free share via HTTP app from phone to the Kobo Clara HD browser. Pick file, type address into browser. It's a breeze. And really convenient when you're on-the-go and have phone but no access to a computer. Last edited by Nightflyer; 06-07-2021 at 02:28 PM. |

I use this method described in a German forum (thanks @Elim Garak. See post number 6 for KOReader). It works for all file types, not only books. I also use it for sending epub with DRM (previously opened with an app with DRM support on the smartphone) which I then read with the Kobo epub reader. I don't use the computer at all.

Workflow on Android phone for Kobo ereader side load wirelessly from phone
1) On phone, open free share via HTTP app 2) Select file/ebook. 3) Locate IP number example “http://9999...” 4) On ereader, open browser and type in IP number (http not https) and return/go. Ebook will transfer wirelessly to ereader and show up in regular books menu. Also can just use share when you're inside an app or file manager or something. I'm not actually planning to attempt a wireless file transfer, but I read this thread out of curiosity and wondered how you find a specific ebook file on your phone. Kobo books I've downloaded on my Android phone were given random character names in a kobo folder. I never even found what folder Google Play books end up in. These books can be read via the stores' apps, but I don't know how you'd find the actual file if you wanted to copy it.

Ebooks from Google Books (or any online bookstore) can be downloaded with the browser and opened with the DRM-enabled application of your choice (Pocketbook, Tolino, Adobe Digital Edition...), and are saved in a folder usually of the same name.
Pocketbook (which has direct access to your Google account, if you make it available), allows you to share, from its home screen, any book you have opened to the folder of your choice. |

I think the best solution is just start a ssh server from within KOReader, and connect my android device (im using mixplorer, any sftp capable app would do) to my kobo. its simple and can transfer both ways to and from my android device, previously i didnt know that KOReader for kobo can do this.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions |

I had wondered about the possibility of getting books from a phone if I were away from home with no access to a PC and wanted to buy a book from another store such as Google Play. However, I'm not away from home very often so I hadn't actually attempted it. |

Anyway, previously i had boox nova 3, and with it running android the possibility to get ebooks across many bookstores is one of its benefit. That might be what suit your need more. But for me, with the dimensions as big as ipad mini, its just too cumbersome to read on the go. |

Why didn't anyone point out the simplest option, to install NickelMenu and enable the FTP server there?
Can easily transfer files from both your computer and your phone. |
