Which ebook reader for science papers and it books?
Hello,
I'm looking for a good big reader that will be nice to see charts, code snippets. My main goal is to find a reader with a good screen with nice quality, contrast, and sharpness. I want a screen that should be more/equal 10. One of the options that is important for me is light for night reading. The price should be less than 500$. I found some interesting readers: Onyx Boox Air, Onyx Boox Note 3, PocketBook Inkpad X, Likebook P10. I will be glad for some suggestions from you, or information to wait for new readers will come. |

Since it sounds as if you will be reading more PDF publications, you might want to look at a LCD tablet. Overall, I've found PDFs to be a poor match even using the 13.3" diagonal eInk ereaders though much of that is the limitations on the software. The problem for me is most of the PDF manuals I use have diagrams that folded out from A4 to A2 or 8.5"x11" to 17"x22" in the paper edition. Trying to follow a line across one of those on any display is a total pain especially where they were colour coded and you have a B&W display. |

The Kobo Elipsa looks awesome, added it to my list. After a day I want something that will be great for my eyes. For now there a lot of epubs and good quality pdfs. That I consider ebook reader. But If there is something with LCD with a good screen that could be to consider.

Lenovo Tablet is about $150 to $200 for 10" and not a walled garden. I use it for stuff not suitable for eink. The new Huawei matepad pro 12.9" seems better than the similar size Apple, but it's likely about $800+, the Lenovo are best value tablets.

Hauwei runs their own OS. It's not all that good.

Hi.
Bookeen Notéa looks very interesting, both in terms of price and the features and capabilities it offers. Official Page and desctription complet : https://bookeen.com/pages/notea-bloc-notes-numerique Or for the low cost "Likebook P10" : https://goodereader.com/blog/product/boyue-likebook-p10 According to your need is exaggerated to pay more than 350 $ Last edited by Michal Jancik; 06-03-2021 at 08:17 AM. |

The Harmony OS 2 seems a reasonable fork of Android. I agree that that they often produce buggy software, that's a bigger risk with all their products (DSL modem/routers, switches etc) than CCP backdoors. ZTE is the CCP State Telecom.
I'll stick with my cheap Lenovo! |

In my area at least none of the current Lenovo tablets under $300 are 4:3, they are all 16:10, none seem to have spectacular specs for the money. Amazon has better deals, at least in my area but you do have to sideload on the Google Play store to get the most out of it. |

So I should consider Bookeen, Onyx Air, or Kobo.
Or tablet Lenovo or Huawei with a ratio 4:3. I shouldn't consider Galaxy or Asus? Should I consider something more? |
