				Keeping metadata for loaned books?

			Does anybody else do that?

I occasionally match a dummy book to fix ugly covers, but I've been thinking of just keeping permanent records for them, perhaps with assistance from the Overdrive plugin. Like my physical .paperbook VL, I'd probably have blank .borrowed or something for filtering/VL purposes. Plus keeping track of the date I read it. I use calibre to keep track of books I have read and those I want to read. I do not have e-book copies of most of them since I read most older books in print and most recently read ones were library borrows.

			I have started doing this.

I use a zero-byte file with an .overdrive extension to mark it as a loan book—might add a different one for physical library books if I ever get to go back. Then I use a VL to segregate them off from my regular library. One advantage: If Overdrive loan expires and I need to re-borrow the book, Kobo Utilities lets me restore my position after I re-load the file onto my Kobo. I also use the Overdrive plugin to make identifier links. |
