I have a backup script that one could probably re-purpose to make it unattended (and as such, usable outside of a shell).

Would it make sense to have a function inside KOReader to save/restore settings? I'm thinking that when/if I need to reinstall KOReader from scratch, I don't want to dig out this (or a similar) thread.

If it's just to be absolutely sure you have the original files for everything you can simply overwrite the folder. The end result will be identical. Settings files won't be overwritten, everything else will.

Then you have inert old files in your setup, which should be harmless (and, FWIW, is probably already the case in most not-brand-new setups) ^^.

Next time I plugin my Kobo, I shall backup the settings. I may make a .bat file to do so.
