What built in epub renderer?
I see a lot of information online that seems in conflict. Some folks say the Pocketbook ereaders use Adobe RMSDK while others say they uses FBReader. Can anyone give me a definitive answer, and maybe explanation as to why there's talk of both?

Pocketbook uses the latest version of RMSDK which is much better then FBReader.

They used to provide two reading apps: one based on RMSDK and one on FBReader. You could choose which one you wanted to read any epub with. It looks like they have done away with the FBReader-based one in recent firmware versions, although it's hard to follow where the reading applications actually are now.

Thanks, that explains the conflicting information. They probably stopped shipping FBReader after they stopped making open source versions available. I wish one of these companies would just put their support behind one of the community-friendly open source readers instead of shipping stuff that has been abandoned for years.

I could be wrong, but it looks like the last major version is from more than 5 years ago. Moreover, the blog link is just a 404 and the forums seem to be a mix of spam and people pleading for updates.

ADE 4.5.11 was released April 14, 2020. So I would think RMSDK would have been updated as well.
