ET Bembo font problems with italics

Hi, I have a problem with ET Bembo, downloaded from here:

https://ctan.org/pkg/etbb

I copied ETbb-Regular.otf, ETbb-Italic.otf, ETbb-Bold.otf and ETbb-BoldItalic.otf in the "fonts" directory of my Kobo Aura One.

On kepubs, the font is rendered as follow:

Apparently, Kobo uses the "Italic" variant as default, and generates also slanted italics.

On epubs instead Kobo renders this way:

the bold variant is ignored, the device generates a bold variant automatically.

I have similar problems with Heuristica, PT serif, Lingua Franca, Gelasio and more.

Could you help me please? Thanks

Edit:

I found the solution. In FontForge, go to Element info -> OS/2> misc -> style map. You need to select "Italic" for the italic version (it was empy).

IF you have problems for other fonts, also remember to have a look at Element info -> OS/2 -> Panose -> Weight. It needs to be either Book (for regular and italic) or Bold (for bold and bold-italic).

This is due to the internal name of the fonts: jackie_w provided these useful instruction about the issue:
