Export highlights without timestamp?
Hi everybody!
Is it possible to change what Calibre adds when I export (copy to clipboard/save to file) from my highlights? Whichever format it's in (plain text/markdown/calibre highlights) it adds a timestamp and a visible line separator or some other elements between highlights; I'd rather it add nothing, just a blank single line space. I typically highlight about 15% of a non-fiction book as I read it. I then read over those highlights in my note-taking app and condense those highlights further. All the timestamps and lines add tons of space and excess material so I'd love to be able to just not have them. Thanks for your advice! I tried searching the user manual and these forums, but came up empty. P.S. Would also love advice on how to easily get images from the book in context so I don't need to add them manually to my outputted highlights; they currently don't get highlighted. |

No, you cannot control the formatting of highlights. I suggest you export as calibre highlights which is just JSON and write your own tool to process them afterwards in whatever fashion you prefer.

Dang. Thanks for the reply! I'll look into making a tool like you mentioned.
