What mobile apps can show the epub highlights made with Calibre Viewer?

On the viewer preferences, I have enabled the option to store highlights within the epub itself.

MapleReader CX (iOS) doesn’t show the highlights I’ve made.

The only one I know of is the calibre content server.

Thanks kovidgoyal. And if I want to use a physical device - can the Kobo display the highlights made in Calibre and vice-versa?

No. There are several ways to fetch the annotations from the Kobo device to a column in the library. But, they are not annotations the viewer can use. And there is no way to update the annotations on the device.

Thanks Davidfor. And from reading the forums here it seems the lack of standards means it’s best to stick to one reader. And for someone like me who wants to be able to read on mobile and desktop that possibly means I should exclude e-ink from the picture and just use an app that supports as many platforms as possible..

In theory, an application could be created for an e-ink reader (even if the device needs to be rooted), that works with calibre epub by matching the behaviour of calibre viewer.

If it doesn’t exits, it’s something that I’d imagine a few of us would help fund.
