Kindle Recaps

I am seeing increasing references in Kindle software to a new feature called "recaps", associated with a separate recaps table of contents.

I don't know the purpose or function of this feature. My best guess is that this might be for recaps of serialized stories (Vella). Other possibilities are news recaps or recaps of a book series.

I am curious to know whether anyone else has heard of Kindle recaps and has more information on it.

Like the 30-second "Last week on Hannibal" that begins each episode? That's a recap.
