Clara HD library overdrive books doesn't show up on kobo

hi, i borrowed ebooks from library via overdrive. and i have set up overdrive account (one at time) on kobo.

since i've a couple library cards, i tried with each of them, however, the books loaned from one library overdrive (Queens NY) doesn't show on kobo and books loaned from the other library (Fairfax VA) show up no problem.

what gives?

Unless you use a Overdrive account and Libby, for instance, to borrow books, your Kobo only supports 1 library on board so you can't configure two library accounts simultaneously.

It's exactly as @DSNB says. To make multiple libraries work with OverDrive, you need to:

☑ Get an OverDrive account
☑ Borrow some ebooks
❑ Log into OverDrive on your Kobo with your *OverDrive account*, NOT your library card.
❑ Download Libby on your phone, set up your account, and add the multiple libraries there.
❑ Verify your variously borrowed ebooks all show up in Libby under your account.
❑ Sync your Kobo and enjoy. If it doesn't work, try repairing your Kobo account in the Device area in settings.

This is pretty much it, but people do run into issues. Let us know how it goes so we can help you out. Don't leave out any details.

i talked to Kobo customer support regarding the issue, they explained that this might be a compatibility issue. here's their reply:

14. it may be a compatibility issue
15. The compatibility error refers to a common issue where a book available at a public library has a ProductID that is different from the one we have at Kobo but the ISBNs are the same.
16. Because of this issue, the book won't sync over OverDrive and you t need to use ADE to sideload the book.

the books are checked out with web browser but some of them don't show up in Libby either.

That's a completely different problem from what you described in your first post.

You didn't mention that you had Libby setup before. Libby manages both Kindle and ePub books, so ISBN compatibility issues as described by Kobo's CS won't be an issue in Libby. It is the Kobo that will sometimes (very rarely for me) have that problem. Any time that I discovered a book was missing from Libby, it was because I had a hold for that same book from another library. It's a problem that happens when you use Overdrive's website to manage your holds instead of Libby. I canceled the hold and suddenly the book I had borrowed from the other library appeared under my loans.

You've got a lot of variables going on here. I have a suggestion. Keep it simple. Remove all library cards from overdrive and Libby except one. Make sure that library's loans sync to your Kobo. We can help you suss out compatibility or database issues. Only then, add additional libraries.
