[REQ] An E-Book Reader.
It’ll be used mostly for reading books and articles related to Data Science and Astronomy that include many lines of code.
I’m subscribed to a platform whose books aren’t DRM-free, so the device has to support installing Android apps. My books usually contain colored graphs, so the device has to support that. It has to offer the functionality that Jon Lund Steffensen’s Redshift offers. I can buy it from either Europe or the USA. |

A tablet would be more suited to your needs than an ereader.

For color that would leave:
6 inch: - Pocketbook Color - Boox Poke 2 Color 7.8 inch: - Pocketbook Inkpad Color - Boox Nova 3 Color In general, Boox devices are far more powerful than Pocketbook devices as they are essentially Android tablets with color E-Ink displays and optional Google Play store. With regards to color, the Boox devices still have serious issues with ghosting whereas the Pocketbook devices don't have such gradial color and contrast options as the Boox devices. |

Thanks for your reply.
My eyes are really sensitive. I’ve tried using normal screens to read my E-Books, but that causes eyestrain which forces me to stop reading from time to time. Someone has recommended using something that uses E-Ink instead, so I’m not really sure. |

If you need color and E-Ink, then the options that rantaplan gave you are the only ones now available. If you need E-Ink but grayscale will do, then you have many more options!
It will also help for us to know how large a device you want or need. |

I think you'll find that epaper colour displays will be a very poor fit for your needs

If you can manage without color, probably a Likebook or an Onyx is your best book. They are both Android and can install apps.

You cannot install Android apps on the Pocketbook devices.

I don’t really know what screen size would be optimal, but I don’t want anything higher than 11”. I sometimes read academic paper and reference books that are always formatted in PDF if that helps. I use O’Reilly’s online learning platform, so it’s a must to use its app in order to access the books. |

I’ve found a script on GitHub that downloads the books from O’Reilly’s platform in EPUB format in case someone needs that.
Based on the knowledge I’ve gained by reading all your replies and the wiki, I’ve found the one that suits me the most. Thanks to you all for helping me, I highly appreciate that. |
