Add Semantics > Text
The Sigil User Guide tells me to "right-click on your first text file and select Add Semantics > Text to tell ereaders that this is where the book should open to".
But there is no semantic property Text in the list that opens when I select Add Semantics (there are about thirty others, including Acknowledgments, Afterword, Annotation, Appendix, Assessment, and so forth). Also, none of the properties that I add to any of the file appears in the content.opf or anywhere else in the epub files. Which property should I select for the beginning of the text? And where in the files should they be saved? |

Is this with epub2 or epub3? For epub2, you set the semantic to Text and it will be added to the opf guide. Under epub3, the semantic to set is BodyMatter to mark the start of the actual text of the book. This will create a landmark in the epub3 NAV.
So this really matters whether you are creating an EPUB2 or an EPUB3. I will update that info in the user-guide for next time. |

Thank you, KevinH, it's an epub3, and choosing body matter worked. I see the landmark in the nav.xhtml. Thank you.
