Show author_sort in calibre

How can I show the author-sort in the library? I tried custom colums, but it didn't work.

Composite column (column made from other columns) with the following template:

You don't need a custom column to display it in Book Details, because it is available in the Preferences->Look and Feel->Book Details list, viz:

The Quality check plugin can show you all the books that DO NOT match the current rules for the sort, so there is little reason to bulk up the DB (slowing things up a bit) just to see the sort in the list (BR showed yo about Details. There is also a floating I(nfo) pane yo can use (handy if you have 2 monitors)
