does Kobo clara HD support chinese characters?

hi, i'm planning to buy a Kobo clara HD to read books, i have a couple questions regarding its support for chinese language:

1. does it supports chinese characters?
2. if yes, i have purchased chinese books from iReader apps using android phone, how to transfer the books to kobo to read?

You may have to install a font to get full support.

That is going to depend on how they are stored, do they have DRM, does iReader use epub as their standard format or is it modified, etc.

Connect your phone to your computer and see if you can locate and copy a book. Then try opening it.

It sure does! Here is a screen shot of my Clara HD viewing a converted Japanese Kindle azw3 ebook which features Japanese and Chinese characters. I can even select and highlight vertically, though it’s a bit clunky. Although the Kobo supports displaying both Traditional and Simplified Chinese, I don’t know if there is a Chinese dictionary. I didn’t see one listed, and I’ve never looked into the matter.

I use Calibre to convert Japanese ebooks to kepub or epub formats. As DSNB stated, however, we’d need to know what format those iReader ebooks are in to answer fully. There are other threads here that will describe how to deal with installation or stripping DRM.

My Kobo Clara HD came new in Chinese and I changed the system to English. They recently added English to Chinese dictionary
