Book error on Samsung Nook but not in Calibre
I downloaded an entire series of books and read the first three without any problems on my Samsung Tab E Nook. The 4th book gives me an error and won't open. I can open the book in the Calibre reader. I have re-downloaded the book, also I have deleted it from both the device and the library and reloaded it all with the same error.
Any ideas? Thanks |

Open the book with Calibre's Editor: Click the Ladybug icon. That should give you results to check out (some are just warnings. It take time to know those you can ignore if Personal use) |

I get one warning; WARNING: The linked resource 'OEBPS/CoverImage.xhtml' does not exist****[toc.ncx] I did try the automatic fix and even the remove all references but the warning stays. |

Calibre replaces the cover (it get a standard name:titlepage.xhtml and adds a jacket as part of the Metadata embed) BUT that will not usually stop a book from opening. Something else is wrong (remember the Quirky bit ![]() How many XHTML files make up the book? How large are Images (they might overwhelm the devices viewer)? |

Appreciate your help, and I am not asking you to do my HW (!), but where would I look to find that info? I know I send an epub file over, I'm not sure how to document whats in that file.

But that (EPUB) is not something you pickup in a couple of days from a cold start ![]() Follow PeterT's advice. If you send the ORIGINAL (as delivered) and it does not work, then it is their issue. Putting Calibre in the middle (a conversion, adding metadata, means YOU modified their delivered work (even though inserting metadata really should not make it fail) |

Do an EPUB to EPUB conversion and send the result to your device. That will most likely fix whatever th eissue is in the book.
