Search results view

Since I upgraded to Calibre 5.13, I'm seeing a new Search result view that I don't remember seeing in before in Calibre (at least not for a few years?). Basically, instead of returning ONLY the search results it's returning my entire DB with highlighted rows. Which is pretty unhelpful with a DB with nearly 10,000 books. Is there a setting to only show the Search results?

In addition, the completed Search doesn't jump to the result portion, so I have to go scanning for the highlighted lines. Since this was working a couple of nights ago and was never a problem before, I'm not sure what's going on.

Look at
Preferences: Searching
remove the tick for Highlight...
If you use Find Duplicates, it will flip this. you might want to tick Show Quick toggle, the there will be a button at the end of the search box

I didn't do anything to make UI changes between the 5.12 and 5.13 upgrade, but your pointer to "Quick toggle" was the culprit. When button label says "Filter" that shows ALL the books. Click on "Filter" and it switches the button label to "Highlight", which shows just the Search results. Ta!

Maybe you inadvertently clicked the blue bar icon when no search was active, or you inadvertently checked Preferences->Searching->General Highlight search results instead of restricting the book list to the results setting… prior to doing the update.
