Hi,
recently i switched from Debian testing to Ubuntu Bionic, Calibre version is 3.42. When i edit text fields of a book record and f.ex. want to paste something from clipboard (control v) or jump by word in the field (control left or right), immediately the field edit focus is lost and i'm out of edit mode, while the book record stays marked. The button "Virtual library" has focus now, though. The older paste, copy and cut shortcuts without control do work, which i find much clumsier, though. It seems this occurs just by tapping the control key(s). Enough Tab key presses gets me back to having the field focus where it was before. I had this experience before, but sometime last year (i think) it went away with a Calibre update. Now, after my new OS installation, it's back, to my chagrin. Any ideas as to reasons or mitigation? -- regards, -- recook |

Hi,
apparently, keyboard handling, including Control key, happens in Qt. Thus it's quite plausible that this bug is possibly located in QT or dependent libraries. I'll have to watch versions there, should the bug disappear again. -- regards, -- recook |

Seems resolved since around version 5 of Calibre.
