Kobo, Error communicating with device

Hello!

I've never had any problem with my Kobo Aura H2O in the 2 years I had it, but between early November (the last time I connected it) and this week, this changed.

I now get this message error:

Code:
calibre, version 5.11.0
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

IOError: disk I/O error

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "calibre\gui2\device.py", line 89, in run
  File "calibre\gui2\device.py", line 542, in _sync_booklists
  File "calibre_plugins.kobotouch_extended.device.driver", line 493, in sync_booklists
  File "calibre\devices\kobo\driver.py", line 971, in sync_booklists
  File "calibre\devices\kobo\driver.py", line 2551, in update_device_database_collections
  File "calibre\devices\kobo\driver.py", line 3265, in set_core_metadata
apsw.IOError: IOError: disk I/O error
I don't know if it's something that I did (I do love playing with all the parameters in calibre and in my kobo) or if something on Calibre changed.

Do anyone know what's happening?

Thanks in advance!

Your disk has an error. Not totally unusual for removable media.

@Clem2605: That is generally a sign of a corrupt database on the device. How it got corrupted, I don't know. A common reason is not safely ejecting the device.

The solution is to restore a recent backup of the database if you have one. If you don't, you will need to sign out of the Kobo account. That will create a new database when you sign in again. Unfortunately, you will lose the reading status and annotations from sideloaded books. If that doesn't work, you might need to do a factory reset.
