need help with calibredb.exe
(1) everytime I execute calibredb.exe as the first line of the output I see "Failed to initialize plugin: 'C:\\Users\\jgt\\AppData\\Roaming\\calibre\\plugin s\\DeDRM.zip'" this does not impact the desired function but I don't know if I should be concerned about the error or just ignore it.
(2) When I execute "calibredb list --fields author_sort > R:\Libraries\Documents\_temp\Author_list.csv". In the file as the 2nd and 3rd lines I see the following: id author_sort 1 John Schember Why do I see the "id". I do not want the "id" value, I just wanted the author_sort value. I can edit out the ID and value but it should not be in the file. (3) When I execute "calibredb list -f authors,title,series,series_index,comments --separator "¤" -w 1000000 > R:\Libraries\Documents\_temp\testlist.csv" I get ID field and some weird character before each field. I copied this line from another post by Kovid Goyal thus I'm sure I got it correctly. I'm running on Win10 x64 with Calibre 5.10.1 x64 |

#1 is probably because that PI is out of date for Calibre 5

As for #2 that's by design, the id is always output to ensure that every row is unique.

theducks I assume PI means Plug In.
I checked the plugins under Preferences and all are reported as being up to date. |

kovidgoyal Am I correct to say that I have to edit the output and remove the "id" and value for "id" if I don't want it?

The DeDRM plugin is not hosted on MobileRead and is not managed by the calibre plugin updater. You need to go back to the place you downloaded it for updates. That said, the most recent general release is not yet compatible with calibre 5.
