Alphabetic sorting problem

I am using 'strictly_alphabetic' to sort my titles column but the epub format books fail to sort properly. For example 'The Fallen Sky' appears in the correct place in the T's whereas 'The Art of Computing' appears in the A's
Other formats PDF, DJVU etc sort correctly.

The (sort rule) change is not retroactive. You need to make those re-compute the Sort value.
Select Books: tap 'E' (bulk mode MDE ): Tick Update Title Sort (near bottom): OK

Thanks for that it worked nicely. I don't recall having to do that before. I just assumed that clicking on the title bar automatically does the sorting (Ascending or Descending) according to the 'strictly alphabetic rule. Every time I add new books I usually just click the title bar to get the books in the correct position.

Clicking on the header always sorts according to what is in the title_sort field. Changing that setting changes the way Calibre calculates the value to put into title_sort which is why it is not retroactive.
