columns won't resize

Not sure why my columns won't size down.

I have columns that are normally very narrow (checkmarks, etc.) but they now won't size down to just the items. I tried manipulating the column width in the booklist at the column header as per usual, but they won't budge.

I know that I have set some view manager views to save column widths etc. but that is after I set the columns to be the width I wanted. So, I don't know what is going on.

I am sure it's something I did or set, but I am not sure what.

What is it with changing the font in Calibre that causes some problems?

SEGOE HISTORIC is what I had the font as and until I changed it to SEGOE UI the columns were "set".

I'm getting a somewhat similar issue to you when I switch to Segoe UI 11pt: My boolean "Read" column will shrink to the size of the column header, but no narrower.

My other columns (e.g. various text, integer, and datetime columns) don't have this issue.

I also don't have this issue at all on my font of choice (Calibri 11pt).

Maybe try a different font; as I recall, Segoe UI has some sort of weird optimized rendering in Windows that might be mucking things up. I like the MS ClearType fonts myself. Yes, I deliberately picked Calibri for its name.

Same problem with Tahoma.

Good to know it wasn't just me. Also, it sucks if it happens in other columns. At least I figured out that using "YU Gothic" causes backslashes to turn into the "Yen" character.

I also use Segoe UI 11pt but my boolean shelves have no problems - I have a few.
