Adding the same book in different formats

I forgot which settings allows me to add multiple formats of the same book and have them all go into the same record

You can:
- Add books > Add files to selected book records
- Drag and drop the file onto Book Details
- Add it through Edit Metadata
- Merge book records, formats only (make sure the book you want to keep is on top)

If you want automerge it's in Preferences > adding books.

In automerge the options are for overwrite, ignore, new record. Does this mean that the same book in different formats would merge? Or would it overwrite or ignore?

It's only for duplicate formats. If you have an ePub and drop in a PDF of the same book, it'll automerge the PDF into the existing record.
