Suggetions
Not sure if this is a good place for posting a firmware suggestion, but here goes.
Kindle is not left hand compatible. If it is in a cover, I cannot hold it with my left hand the way I like (gripping the Kindle with my thumb and index or ring fingers with is snugged between the folded over/back cover). Even if I remove the Kindle from the cover and flip it upside down so the flap is on the other side, the touch areas for page forward/back won't allow for left hand use. Could someone look into fixiing this? 1- allow the user to define the areas for pagination. 2 - add "upside down" layout so the Kindle can be turned over for left hand viewing within covers. 3 - not mentioned above but still helpful. Set the top menu bar to hide so that it doesn't get in the way if I accidentally hit the space where it shows up. I thought there was a way of "locking the touchscreen" but that just means to me that I can't page forward or back. If this isn't the case, then rename it so people realize that they aren't about to freeze up their Kindle. Thanks! |

I am also left handed and I love my paperwhite but I hated the Oasis that I had before. So you may like the Oasis better. With the Oasis it is possible I believe to hold it the way you prefer. I prefer having the cover completely flat when holding it.

Amazon should allow user settings for line-height and L/R margins.

1- An Oasis is much more expensive than I want to read.
2 - I get tired of reading with my right hand and would very much like to switch to my left hand. However, with the cover I cannot hold onto it the way I like, and I cannot page forward. I use the cover because I like to snug my index/ring fingers between the device and the flap when it's folded back. I use my thumn to swipe the page forward. I read a TON. Mostly in bed, where I would like to lay on a side or cover up when it's cold but being ony able to read right handed is a pain. LOL! |
