calibredb export with GUI open

Not a bug, but more 'lack of information'

I have a script that runs calibredb export to export files to a flat folder

If I run it and the GUI is open (because I forgot/didn't notice) it just ends -- no message

Could you add a message to the effect that the GUI is open and maybe return an error code that I can trap?

If you want to run against an open calibre you can do so by running the content server from within the GUI and asking calibredb to connect to the server with -with-library. As for printing an error message, it does do so already, and exists with a non-zero exit code.

I'm too old to multi-task, so I 'usually' only do one thing at a time

I do see that it was my VBS script window that must have cleared the error message (capture1.jpg) since when I run calibredb manually (capture.jpg) I do get the error message and a ERRORLEVEL = 1

I'll modify the script to test ERRORLEVEL and tell me that I need to close the GUI

Sorry to bother for a user mistake
