Cant open any Ebook
I cannot seem to open epubs i get this error when i do

calibre, version 4.17.0
ERROR: Loading book failed: Failed to open the book at E:\Calibre\John Schember\Snabbstartguide (1)\Snabbstartguide - John Schember.epub. Click "Show details" for more info.

i only have windows defender running in windows 10 so it shouldnt be blocking anything i think?

I tried converting to lrf but when i did that it seems i lost pages...
Help please.

I would suggest an update to calibre 4.23 if you are using the DeDRM plugin or calibre 5.6 if you are not using DeDRM or are willing to run the beta DeDRM plugin.

Thank you , i wasnt aware there was a later update , i just bought it off the microsoft store but it works now that ive downloaded it off the website.

Bought it off? Calibre is free. You shouldn't have paid for it. If someone sells it in the Microsoft store, that's fraud.

Unless they also distribute calibre's source code, they will be in contravention of the terms of its license, the GPLv3. Not to mention the general shittiness of profitting off other people's work.
