Pocketbook 603 -- How to change default reading app?

Hello! My PB 603 has two reading apps installed, AdobeReader and FBReader. The default seems to be AdobeReader. How can I change that to FBReader? The manual doesn't have any information on this.

One way to do this would be to edit or create the file called system/config/extensions.cfg, and reverse the order of the two epub reading apps so that FBReader comes first. For example:

epub:@EPUB_file:1:fbreader.app,AdobeViewer.app:ICON_EPUB

My ereader doesn't have this file. Does it need any other lines of code to work? Or just this one line?

Just that one line will be fine. I think you have to be careful not to add Windows-style carriage returns to the end of the line. If you are editing the file on Windows, use a program like Notepad++ and enable Unix-style line-feed only characters for line breaks.

If you can't create it correctly yourself, post again and I can upload a working copy of the file.

Hm, notepad++ doesn't seem to be able to edit in the unix page breaks. I've tried several times, and it won't save correctly. Is this the method you mean?

Yes, that link explains the issue exactly. I looked at your file, and it is missing the line-feed at the end of the line. I'm not sure if that is a problem, so I've attached a copy of the file with the line-feed in place.

To test if it is working, you can long press on an epub in the Library app, and then select the "Open with..." menu item. "fbreader" should show up as the first item in the list.
