Problems with KOReader
I recently installed KOReader on my Pocketbook touch hd 3, and when I tried to open epub books, there weren't any pages in the book and it said I reached the end of the book. Could anyone please help? Thanks!

I guess we need more details for help:
1) Which Koreader version? 2) Did you change extension.cfg? 3) Do you use profiles? 4) Where did you download Koreader and in which directory did you install Koreader? 5) This strange behaviour happens with all epubs? |

There's a 99'99% of chance the epub is indeed DRM'ed.
Epub documents are fed into CREngine without any kind of checks. And CREngine will render all valid* xhml inside the epub container (which is 0 in the case of DRM'ed epubs) * It will render most invalid xhtml too ![]() Last edited by pazos; 11-18-2020 at 01:14 PM. |

Yes, the epubs are library books with drms but i can read them with the normal pocketbook reader. Does that mean i can't read DRM epubs in KOReader?

Yup. DRM won't be supported in KOReader or any other opensource ebook reader. The only fix I could suggest is to remove DRM if you want KOReader or remove KOReader if you want DRM

All 3rd party software can't read DRM "protected" books on Pocketbook devices. For that you need to use the internal readers.

Ok, the only thing I would use KOReader for is the dictionaries, currently I am using a dictionary a posted by a user on here, i just wanted to see if the dictionaries on KOReader would be better

Anyways, you can remove system/bin/koreader.app, so all books will be opened with PB reader. That way you still can tinker with KO if you launch it via the application menu. From the KO filemanager it will be easy to spot differences between DRM and normal epubs, as the first will be displayed with an empty cover and the ebooks you own will be displayed with their cover. |

Do any of you have a good dictionary for pocketbook? I've been searching around and each dictionary has it's own weaknesses, like the one I'm currently using doesn't have a pronunciation guide. I just want a good dictionary. Thanks!

Post a new thread about it, or use the search function.

But keep in mind you'll need a good dict to begin with. And the same author stated that PB dict is not very good in https://github.com/koreader/koreader...ment-729170534 |

If the dictionary is very important to you, then you could look into buying a commercial one for your reader. They are sold in the PocketBook (Obreey?) store. The selection isn't great, but you might be lucky and find one you like, and they aren't very expensive. The only problem is that they are locked to the device you register them for, and you can't transfer them to a new reader if you get one.
