Version 5.4.2 "Folder Device"?

Hello:

I was just 'forced' to install the new Version 5 (because the data base in my Clara wasn't compatible with Version 4!) and now I find, when I turn Calibre on, a "Folder Device" connected. I can't find anything in the manual about it so I thought I would see if I can learn about it!

Automatic connection to folder devices happens if you have set a tweak for it in Preferences->Tweaks.

Thanks Kovid: I guess the terminology must have changed. I thought what I was doing was specifying the library which Calibre selected when it opened! The fact that Calibre considers the library as a device is new to me! I will think about how I can make use of this feature!

I hate to say it, but there was no need to upgrade. If you had read the message that calibre had displayed you would have seen it suggested configuring the Kobo driver to allow unsupported database versions.

Yes, there IS a warning there that it might cause database corruption, but trust me, if that was the case there would have been warnings throughout these forums about the incompatibility.
