Why are threads about issues with computers in the WRONG forum?

Devices (IMHO) is the wrong forum for problems running Calibre. So why is it that such thread are here? Devices should be for problems with actual devices and not problems running Calibre.

I know what the description for devices is, but it's wrong.

Exactly. Which is why I have move many a post over the years.
(and yes, I think it is a bit odd, but THESE POSTS are the first time others have aired their opinion, so I just do my job: put posts where the topis belong)

So can't you put them where they actually belong because the fine print is wrong? Also, if you are doing your job and putting these posts in the correct forum, then why are there a lot of threads about problems with Calibre on a computer in the Calibre forum instead of the Calibre Devices forum?

The 'fine print' clarifies what the sub forum is for. Just because you want to interpret the title in a different way does NOT make you right.

I used the word ODD, not wrong.

The Greenies set up the forums (with some suggestions

).
They do act, look how fast 'Viewer' happened (and with little no arm twisting).

Remember: Greenies are the final word. The rest of us just make requests or suggestions.
FWIW I have no issue changing the purpose wording IF the mods agree on a better place.

The 'Greenies' are entirely happy for Kovid and the calibre mods to organise the calibre forum as they think fit, and will try to respond promptly to requests for changes that are beyond the forum mods' powers.

BTW What is a "device"? Dedicated reader, I understand

Phone or Tablet: OK (does a Tablet sold as a reader (eg Fire) fit as Reader or Tablet.
Where does a traditional browser fit. What if it is built into a Appliance (Refer, Washer, Toilet

)

I would class a device as something that you can use to read eBooks but does not run Calibre.

The Server sub-forum? The browser is connecting to the server, so it seems like a reasonable place.
