Trouble sending ebooks by email

Hello!

I've been using Calibre for years without any issue. I usually sent the ebooks by the email feature to my kindle and it worked perfectly.

However, since a couple of weeks ago I couldn't do it anymore. Everytime that I try I get the same error, I even tried to use the GMX feature (I usually use gmail) and I get the same error. Can somebody help me? Thanks!

Is your computer name using non-ascii characters?

Yes, I checked and my computer name is "Portátil_JNV". It could be the á character.

However, I have not changed this since I bought the laptop 5 years ago. Why is it causing trouble now? I'll try to change it and update the post if it solves the issue.

Update: I changed the name of the laptop and now it works fine.

And Windows has not been stuffing Updates down its throat in all that time?

(many years ago, I made the mistake of cleaning up my bosses desk while I was finding the newer Change notices I was supposed to file. OMG did I get reamed: 'Don't mess with my nest'!
Now days they change Icons, app names and WEB pages jerk the content you are reading

Its causing trouble now because of a bug in python 3 which calibre 5 upgraded to. Will be fixed in next release.
