Dictionaries not working on Kobo Libra H2O
Hello,
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but while browsing the forum, I couldn't find any solution. I've just got Kobo Libra H2O, my primary goal being reading books in foreign languages. Imagine my surprise when I found out that no matter which word I highlighted in my e-books I got the same message: "No definition found. Try another dictionary." Is there any way to fix this issue? |

Strangely enough that message probably means the dictionaries are working. It means that the dictionary you are using does not contain the word you looking for. You can check this by opening the dictionary search (tap the arrows on the bottom right when the above message is displayed) and entering the word. If it is found, with the same spelling as in the text, there is a problem. But, it is much more likely that the word is not there.
The only fix is to use a different dictionary. And that probably means you will need to add a custom dictionary with more words in it. |

The problem is, I get this message when I type in words in the opened dictionary. For example, I typed "house" in the English dictionary and got the same message.

In that case, I would suggest trying the following:
Also, what firmware version are you running? |

Have you tried rebooting and doing another sync? I received my Libra last week, after the initial update and firmware upgrade I was having the same problem. I did a separate sync and the Libra downloaded the dictionaries, no issues now.

Thanks for the suggestions! The dictionaries miraculously appeared after I activated the "opposite" ones, i. e. Eng-French, Eng-Spanish, etc. I have no idea why it worked.

It probably means there was a problem syncing it. When you added the others, it probably downloaded all the dictionaries.
