Converted book opens in Calibre, but not on Kindle

I have converted an azw book to mobi using Calibre (and deDRM). It opens fine on Calibre, and I can sideload it to my Kindle PW. The cover shows on the Kindle. However, when I try to open it, I get an error message that says it cannot open the book.

Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong, or how to proceed in troubleshooting it?

Try converting to azw3 instead.
