Is there a reason why I am not able to match my books on my device with the books in my library?

Same books, same formats same titles.

Not sure how to help you. On one of my ereaders, I've downloaded all 1,750 books in my Amazon library and they are all there, matching what is in the cloud (including the docs). Check your filters.

Were they transferred to your ebook reader from calibre, or vice-versa? Or were they downloaded directly to the ebook reader, and arrived in calibre through a different route?

they were downloaded from Amazon onto my reader. I either bought them from Amazon or emailed them to myself. I haven't connected my reader to Calibre for a while, but it doesn't matter now because I found a decent work around. I am also reinstalling Calibre to see if that fixes other problems.

So separately downloaded to calibre and your ebook reader.

If you need to solve this problem in future, I suggest concentrating on just one book to see what differences there are. I suspect different formats downloaded to the reader and in calibre.

Amazon books downloaded into my library from Kindle for PC app all show up as KF8 (AZW3) but the same books delivered by Amazon to my device are in the KFX format. I can't import them into Calibre from the device.

I have configured it for Calibre though, and the other books I have emailed to myself are linked fine.

The problem seems to be that the books in the device purchased from Amazon are not showing up no matter how I type in the title/author as matches to anything in my library.

In the case of one book, I confirmed that the title is spelled exactly the same. I shortened out the series. So all I was trying to match was the title.

The title didn't show when I searched that. Then I searched by Author. All the books by that author showed up EXCEPT the one I was looking for.

Weird.

Obiously the azw3 Files are the output of the DeDRM Plugin. At least this is what my PC does...

Are these book showing in the device list? If they are, does the author and title match what you have in the calibre library? If they don't, you either need to update the library to match what is on the device, or do the manual matching. Once you do that, and save the changes, it should match automatically the next time you connect the device. Or is this what is not working?

What version of calibre? I'm not sure when/if recognition of KFX format was added.

As you can see, any book with a series isn't going to match.

Also, this is new. I never had this problem before.

I use both Calibre 4.7 in 32 and 4.23 in 64.

I don't think it's a problem with having both versions. I can't see how that would be the case.

I keep all my books in Calibre so that I can either edit the formatting or convert them to epub and get book info. I used to resend them to my device in series order first since Amazon dosn't often show the series of the book because of sapcing issues on the device. However, lately I have just been creating catalongs for specific authors and use that to find out which book is in the sereis.

I wouldn't expect calibre to automatically match those books when you plugin the device. The title is to different and needs some interpretation.

So, you go to the device list, right-click on the unmatched book and select the "Match books to library" option. Then in the search box type "Title of the Book in Calibre" (by that I mean the exact title of the book in your library) and press search, it doesn't show the book that is in your library? Or if you enter a word that is in the title, say "Calibre" for your example, and press search, it doesn't show all books with the word "Calibre" in them, including the book titled "Title of the Book in Calibre"?

If that is the case, I don't know what is happening. This is definitely working here, and I haven't seen any change in behaviour. I use it frequently for those cases where a subtitle or series info is in the title of a purchased books. Usually I just delete the "extra" part of the title to find it in the library, but occasionally have to look and see what the actual title is if there are spelling differences.

I have been totally unable to match any book that I have purchased from Amazon that is currently residing in my Calibre library no matter how I type in the search. In fact it often won't even show up the book when it shows every other possible book with that criteria.

I checked to confirm that the device is configured, and that the plugins all recognize it.

However, I have noticed that the books Amazon delivers no longer have the titles as they used to be. I don't know if this makes a difference, but here is an example of what the device shows when I look in the folders

E:\documents\Downloads\Items01\Sweep of the Blade (Innkeeper Chronicles Book 4)_B07T9257DJ.kfx

It's like any book that is a .kfx format won't match to Calibre. Do I need to have the .kfx plugin installed?

It's worth a try. I don't think calibre knows anything about the KFX format natively. The Input plugin, obviously.
