LoadLibrary failed with Error 87: Falscher Parameter

Hallo,

habe gerade die Version 4.0 installiert und erhalte beim Start von Calibre den Fehler:

LoadLinrary failed with Error 87: Falscher Parameter

Jemand eine Idee, wie ich Calibre wieder zum Laufen bringe?

Gruß

Is that a typo (red above) in the code or the post?

From looking at a debug output on my computer, the next section should be similar to the below:

Code:
Turning off automatic hidpi scaling
devicePixelRatio: 1.0
logicalDpi: 120.0 x 120.0
physicalDpi: 141.76744186 x 141.402061856
Which makes me wonder about your video driver when attempting to fetch windows.devicePixelRatio. The last time I ran into a similar problem, I needed a video driver update to correct it.

This is basically some dll load failing, its hard to know which, since calibre uses lots of third party components, all of which load lots of DLLs. But certainly updating video drivers can never hurt. You can also try using process monitor it might tell you which dll is failing to load.

Ok. I found the problem. I removed the graficcard in Deive Manager and started windows again. It installs "standard"-driver and calibre works again.

You might want to check the post #8 in this thread where Dorian67 uninstalled his video card. After a restart (I'm going to assume that he checked the delete the driver software box before clicking on the Uninstall button), it should reinstall the video card with the Microsoft driver. If calibre now works, you can either stay with this setup or get serious about checking for a new video driver.

See attached image for the Uninstall box from Device Manager.

Have you tried updating your video driver? Updating calibre to v5.2? And perhaps, installing the 64 bit version of calibre to match your 64 bit version of Windows. Also, given that you are running Windows 10 1903, you might want to look at running Windows Update and updating your version.

Thx for the tipps. I have some questions on these:

1) I am just downloading version 5.2 - but I cannot find two versions (a32-bit and a 64-bit version of Calibre at the download location). And even in the installer I do not see this 64-bit option.

2) I have the latest of my video drivers installed on this new machin. But I try to start Calibre via RemoteDesktop. Using RD was working on my old machine but here I get the error.
Wehen I am sitting at the new pc, not using Remote Desktop, V´Calibre starts correctly.
