I love the pop-up menu and its actions BUT have a concern. I am in the habit of highlighting the block of text I am reading and the pop-up elements obscure more or less of the selection.
May I suggest/request an option whereby the pop-up does not appear on selected text unless a set key (maybe a single key, e.g. 'p') is pressed? I realize I can turn the pop-up of but then I can't highlight text or use the pop-up features. |

The popup generally positions itself so as not to obscure highlighted text however in some situations it can fail, especially when highlighting large blocks of text. If you have situations where it is failing to do so when there is an obvious way it could please open a bug report, attach the ebook file and describe the situation where it misbehaves.

Thank you.
But wouldn't it be difficult for you to reproduce my results because font, font size, viewer window size, etc. would affect how the book was displayed so you would not be able to experience what I experience? But I can say the text is covered by the controls every time a paragraph in the bottom right corner of the viewer is selected. Showing the controls when a single key was pressed would be a very elegant solution IMHO and would ensure the controls never covered selected text. Here's another picture. |

I had a look at the code, and this is deliberate. The first priority when positioning the popup bar is that it should be close to where the mouse is, when the selection extends to the bottom of the screen there is no space at the bottom, so the bar is positioned above, and therfore covers some of the selection.
If you select instead from bottom to top the bar will be positioned above the top (note that there is a bug in the current release that will cause this to not work, but it will work in the next release onwards). |

Thank you for spending more time answering my question. I understand the challenges you face positioning the pop-up bar.
But bits of the selection are covered by the drag handles no matter how the text is selected. I guess I'm just going to have to ether accept that my old workflow is gone if I want to use the benefits of the pop-up. I know many of us likely have requests but I know this could be cleared up by only showing the pop-up when it's been called up. Regardless, thank you. |
