[Request] Book List with cover thumbs

A request. Can list view mimic a bit file managers and other that have an icon? Being able to see cover, perhaps customizable in size along with font size independent of UI setting, could be nice. I like the details of list view and covers would help distinguish versions and also make identifying works much easier

I'm guessing the non-grid view of the book list? I'm not sure I'm understanding either.

I agree with cats.
OP Try using the content server (in list view) for your browsing.

On my screen, unless I want to lose a lot of lines, any icons are going to be too small to be useful if they were added to the list view.

You can use column icons to show different format icons or whatever if you want, but if you want to see the covers you might as well use grid view.

Just as with a file manager and many apps or sites, it would be helpful to see covers in another view besides cover view. Just as one doesn't always use some icon view in a file manager when one wants to see metadata details, same for books. Often I want to see details yet at the same time a cover for each. Imagine such list views in a file manager or app to sort photos, much more difficult to use without an image. E.g., if I have 10+ copies each of a widely translated work such as The Iliad or The Mahabharata, seeing creators publisher cover etc greatly helps sorting though multiple editions.

On my system, the cover image would be about 20x20 pixels. It's going to be hard to recognize the book cover at that size and I am not willing to sacrifice the number of lines I see to allow for a larger image. You already have ability to display the book details panel where you can see a much larger book cover image. See the attached image for a 13x20 image of a book cover.
