Is there any way to bookmark a text passage in 5?

In Calibre 4.x, I was able to select a passage of text and then add that to the bookmarks. In 5, if I select the text and then click the top of the screen to open the menu it deselects the text before the menu opens. There's no option to bookmark it in the little pop-up menu.

You can add the bookmark button to the selection bar in the viewer preferences under Selection behavior.
