My batch files using the command line interface won't work as of Calibre 5.0 update. Message is "Failed to load DeDRM.zip....." . Updated to Calibre 5.1 and still does not work. My DeDrm plugin is somewhat old so I downloaded the newest one but Calibre fails while trying to install it (log below). I see a sticky post about DeDRM not working anymore and having to use Calibre portable but it has always worked fine for me up until Calibre 5.0.

Please advise.

Calibre 5 dropped support for Python 2. DeDRM hasn't yet updated to Python 3. Either wait for it to be updated or check the thread I linked above.

ok 4.23 downgrade works!!!!!

Both my essential plugins -- deDRM and Duplicates -- failed to work with the new update. So I've gone back to 4.23 until I figure out what to do. Will watch this forum for advice.

We know DeDRM does not work. The solution is if you are on Windows, install the 4.23 portable to remove the DRM.

But Find Duplicates has been converted to Python 3. If you are having trouble with Find Duplicates under calibre 5, go to the plugin thread and post what's not working.
