Issues Getting Books onto my Galaxy Tab A
Hello, I have had some major issues getting my Calibre library onto my Samsung Galaxy Tab A. I have the latest version of Calibre (just downloaded it today, in fact), 4.23. I have the latest version of the Calibre Companion.
I cannot get it to connect via wireless (my internet connection is permanently set to "public" from our internet provider and there's not a thing I can do about it, sadly, so I can't use the wireless connection. However, I cannot get it to connect via the Content server either. I also tried to load it via USB. I can find the folder of books, but it tells me that the calibre information is corrupted or missing. Yet, I sent it all to the device using Calibre itself. I have no idea why nothing works with this. I love Calibre but I haven't been able to use it in months and I am feeling very frustrated with everything. |

Anyone have any thoughts? I figure the Calibre companion won't work because of the fact that my internet connection is public. But I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why I can't use it by sending the books to my tablet via USB. It just tells me that the calibre information is missing or corrupted. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.

Find and delete the files driveinfo.calibre and metadata.calibre and you should be ok to connect via USB.

Unfortunately, not. I deleted the files. And opened up Calibre Companion and it still says that the Calibre information is missing or corrupted. I'm a bit at my wits end here. I have tried all the trouble shooting I can find and I just don't understand this. I even tried it on the main storage as opposed to the SD card and same results.

I'm confused. If you are using USB dont use calibre companion. If you are using calibre companion then ask for help in the calibre companion forum.

I thought to read it, I had to use calibre companion in order to import them all into the reader of choice? I use Moon+ Reader and trying to import them all without it is problematic. But I will try over there.
Thank you for the help. I thought it may be something with calibre because it kept mentioning that it was missing or corrupted. |

No if you use USB to transfer, the files are on your device already you should be able to acess them from your reader program of choice.

I can, but each one has to be imported into the reader individually. In fact, I have to go through the files and open it up in the reader, then it will show up, but I can't just go into the folder and import the folder of books, if that makes sense (sorry, it's late here and every time I think I've got it, it doesn't work as it did before).

That will be a function of the whatever reading application you are using. calibre can only send the files to the device, no more.
